Shabby Chic hand painted picture.

A little paint creates a new look for the very cute frame and painting. The frame is covered in rose buds. They were all pink. I painted them Heirloom white and hand painted roses. Shabby Chic is a homey, romantic, comforting look. I like it because of it's homey and welcoming feeling.

Teaching is fun

I demonstrated scuba diving equipment today in Mrs Bergman and Mrs Welu’s Class. I discussed how to dive using the jacket, octopus, computer on the octopus, flippers, mask and weights. I let the children feel the air coming out of the mouthpieces. I told them part of the equipment with all the hoses is called an octopus. They just loved that. I demonstrated how and why the jacket should be inflated. And again, they loved it.

I’m demonstrating the pressure of water using a ball. Also explaining how pressure condenses air.

I showed the children how air is light and it will float by letting them watch bubbles come to the surface of a bottle filled with detergent and water. Then talked about the body floating because we have air in our lungs. Then we needed to add weights to our body to get us to sink.

Piano recital at Fruit Cove Baptist Church with Liz Deal as the piano teacher.

Connor played the song, I Got Rhythm at the spring piano recital. For some reason he was nervous. When you see the movie you can see he got a nervous itch on his nose. He received a metal for playing one year. That made is day. We are so proud of him and he is so proud of himself for getting the metal. He will not take it off. This is one of The Cisco Kids adventures we can cherish in his life forever.

Cake is always fun.

Tortellini and Chicken with Sun-dried tomato Alfredo

D.I.E.T? There are two reasons for failing on a diet. 1st reason. Depriving your self of great tasting food. It is not natural for someone who likes food to live on lettuce and broiled chicken. 2nd reason. The time it takes to think light, think portion control and think cost of all the food. The light went off in my head one day. Why am I fighting it? Make meals with ten ingredients or less. This will keep the calorie count down and the cost of ingredients down. In my D.I.E.T. 15 minute meal recipe section, I have recipes that are easy, fast, cost effective and I have to say, great tasting, very satisfying dinners.

The Awards and the class gardens

Award ceremony, Connor received an award for Mathematics and a certificate was given for completing kindergarten.

They planted a garden a few months ago and WOW!!! I wish I could grow plants and veggies like that.

Last homework assignment for 2008/2009 kindergarten School year

Wednesday 10, 2009 is the last day of Connors kindergarten class. my little baby has completed Kindergarten. Now he is going into 1st grade. 1st grade….. wow…..It was yesterday we sent him to 3 year old pre-k at Living waters.

THREE HOME OFFICES UNDER ONE ROOF

This week Kelly is showing Home Offices.

We call this, the business men, man cave. My husband uses this when he works from home. My son calls it his laboratory. This is their own little space in the house where men could be men and boys could be boys.

The Chief is a WWII buff.

My son’s Laboratory/ Office:

He can have his little space with his dead bugs and experiments all to himself.
The only thing that keeps this in the house is, 1st they are dead. 2nd I keep repeating to myself…it’s not a snake, it’s not a snake, it’s not a snake.

I am outnumbered in my house. Everything is all about the manly thing. I created my little girly section in the house that I call my girly girl office. Everything in it is very special to me.

These are my mothers things. I put them in a small shadow box.

I made the pillow and the matching picture board. I then attached some of my mothers old jewelry to it.
