The Cisco Kid wants it all

Now that The Cisco Kid has been in school for one week, it is time to get him involved in extracurricular activities. I want him to experience different activities and if he likes them it's fine, if he doesn’t like them that is fine also. As long as he tries them out so he can make his decision based on experience. I require him to complete what he starts as long as the activity portrays what is advertised. In the past he has participated in Karate, Tumbling, Gymnastics, Soccer, KidzArt Art Program, Piano and Chirakawa Apaches through the YMCA. He loved them all. This year going into first grade opens new doors for activities. A big activity that we are so excited about is with the Boy Scouts. We joined and he is in the Tiger Cub Pack. This is so up his alley. He loves crafts, camping and getting achievement patches. I have to say, this is right up my alley also. I volunteered as a den mom. He has two other activities that he will also be doing, the Awana with the children’s ministry and Soccer. This year we have a busy schedule.

This is when he was in the Awana Cubbies. Now it will be Awana.

These were second graders in the Boy Scouts. Earlier this year we went to the Georgia Aquarium and spent the night. They offer the greatest adventure. You can camp out in the aquarium and they give you behind the scenes tour of the whole aquarium. We were teamed up with this Boy Scout Troop. It was an extra special experience for The Cisco Kid because these Boys took the Cisco Kid in as if he was part of their troop. From that day forward my son loved the Boy Scouts. Soccer Piano Recital, I will continue to teach him the piano.
Participating and reading about "What would your children say?" Wednesday, is a real good laugh for mid week. I hope to see all the familuarla faces and new ones.

S'mores cookies

very Monday I am going to post a recipe from my Christmas cookie collection. There are a total of twelve recipes I will be sharing.

Last week it was the Almond Crescents and this week is S'mores. I am going to put a linky on each of the posts. If you would like to share your Christmas cookie recipes I would love to see them.

S’mores is so easy and a huge hit in my house. My husband and son love them because they are S’mores fans. I love them because not only do they taste great but these can be made without having a roaring fire.
Ingredients:

1 box of Honey Gram Crackers
1 small jar of Marshmallow Fluff
1 bag of Chocolate flavored Bark Coating, 24 oz.

Directions:

Brake Gram Crackers into 4th's. Spread a thin layer of Marshmallow Fluff on Gram Cracker then cover with another gram Cracker. Once all crackers are Fluff sandwiches melt Chocolate Bark according to the directions on the bag. Dip one side of the Fluff sandwich and place on parchment paper to cool and harden.

No Baking Required.

The first child fears

Being first born is rough. They are the ones who pave the path for the younger siblings. They are the ones that test the waters one toe at a time. When it comes to the second or even third child the waters have been tested and now parents feel more comfortable to let the younger siblings just jump right in. I know this because I was the oldest of three and I watched over the years how I paved the path for my younger brother and sister.

Now that I am a mom and I have one child, I understand how moms have the first born fears. I have one shot and only one shot at making his life as perfect as I could. He is unknowingly going to experience the full force of all my fears. I am an overprotective mother that analyzes his surroundings, skeptical of everything, trust only the trustworthy, not afraid to immediately ask questions concerning him and I worry about him when he is not with me. There is nothing more precious to us in this world than our little boy.

This brings me to say last year the Cisco kid had a few of his friends take the school bus to and from school. He begged me to let him ride it. He would always ask when he could ride it. My standard answer has been.... When you're twelve!! I thought my Kindergartner was just too young to ride the school bus. Now that he is in first grade and he thinks he is all grown up, his passion for riding the bus is even greater. I think there is a certain level of responsibility a child should have that follows riding the bus. To ride the bus or not to ride the bus that is our fear of the week. I will keep you posted on our final decision..

Thank you everyone for participating in "What would your children say?" Wednesday, is a real good laugh for mid week.

Where is that smell comming from?

Wednesday is always good for a mid week laugh. This is the day where we could tell everyone about our children's outrageous and downright embarrassing moments we will remember and continue to laugh about when our children are about twenty. It’s “What would your children say?” Wednesday.

Imagine this!!!!! I'm sitting at my computer, typing away when I hear my sweet little boy say….. Mom, smell my butt. I turned around in shock, thinking…..What!!!!! He has is pants down and his backside facing me. When I asked him what he was doing. His response was. I want you to smell my butt, I sprayed air freshener on it and it smells pretty. Where, I ask.... Where do they come up with these things?
