Shabby Chic Inspirations

I am all moved into my booth at Sugar Bear Antique Mall. A friend of mine introduced this mall to me about four years ago. I have always loved having a booth and now I am back. It's located on Julington Creek Rd. in Jacksonville, FL My booth number is #34.
Shelving is always needed when you have an antique booth. So last week I got two folding doors so I could attach some shelving to it. Here is how these two doors turned out.
We started bringing items into the mall on Saturday. Since I have several large furniture item, I hade to make a couple of trips. We dropped off the door shelves and the black drop leaf table.
As you can see in the pictures above there is no black drop leaf table.   I went in the mall late Sunday afternoon to bring some more item and they had already sold the black drop leaf table. About a half hour after we got home from decorating the booth, I received a call from Sugar Bears letting me know that my white desk sold. WOW!!!!

Monday I brought in some more furniture to fill up the blank spot.
This is what it looks like righ now.  I have some more plans for it by the end of the week.
I will start an etsy account shortly.

A very cute 1st Birthday party.

Over the weekend we went to one of the Chiefs friends little daughters birthday party.  Their little girl just turned 1 and the party theme was the Beach.   It was such a cute party with everything color cordinated including the little one year old with her perfectly adorable sandle sun dress.  The guest gift bags were sand buckets filled with a beach towel, beach ball, bubbles and candy.

The cute little one year old Birthday Girl enjoying her sunshine cake.
The Cisco Kid enjoyed every bite of his cupcake.
And I mean every bite.
The Cisco Kid added his special note to a precious keepsake picture with all the other guests special notes to the birthday girl.
The Cisco Kid enjoyed watching the birthday girl open her gifts.
He loved the guests gift
Good fun on the play ground!
We really enjoyed the party.

Information on my new Antique Booth

I have been so busy trying to get all my Antique Booth items together. I have been thinking of a name for my booth and I came up with “Shabby Chic inspirations” Since my items are not shabby anymore, they have become chic and very inspirational in design I thought the name Shabby Chic Inspirations was a good fit.

My booth size is a 6x6. Sounds small but when you start to add shelves it adds so much space. My goal is to perfectly decorate the 6x6 space so it looks cozy and homey.

I found two chairs that would match perfectly for the black table I just got done painting. I will post some pictures of completed items shortly. I will also open an Etsy account so these items could be purchased on line.  Keep a lookout and perhaps you could get some ideas on how to refurbish something of your own.

Homemade summer salad bar.

I love salads!!! Especially when I make them at home with all my favorite toppings. What I do to make it easily accessible is prep everything in advance and put all the toppings in small individual dishes. When I want a salad during the week all I have to do is take out the trays and I have an instant salad bar.

My favorite Items are:
Cheese
Green olives
Artichokes
Boiled egg
Honey baked ham
Grilled chicken
Onions
Cucumber
Carrots
Celery
Tomatoes
Mini gherkins
Dried Cranberries
Sunflower seeds

I mixed the carrots and celery together because they are they same texture and it would save on an extra condiment dish.

I spiced up the diced tomatoes with fresh parsley.
My dressing of choice is my home made basil, roasted red pepper balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

Dressing

1/2 cup of Olive Oil
1/4 cup of Balsamic Vinaigrette
1/2 cup parsley
2 cups of roasted red peppers
1/2 cup of sun dried tomatoes pesto
2 tablespoons of Mrs. Dash tomatoes basil garlic
1/4 cup of fresh basil or basil pesto
3 cloves of garlic

In a food processer, blend all ingredients except for the Olive Oil and balsamic vinaigrette. After everything is mixed, slowly add the balsamic vinaigrette while mixing. Once the balsamic vinaigrette is incorporated, do the same with the Olive Oil. Pour dressing in a container and refridgerate.
I made some homemade crustiness. I put some olive oil in a bowl with Mrs. Dash, Tomato Basil Garlic seasoning. Then add kosher salt to taste. I then brushed the bread slices with the mixture and baked for ten minutes.
