A Shabby Chic Transformation

Over the weekend I came across this great little table. It was all scratched up and looked very tired. I gave it a face lift by sanding the old varnish off the two top surfaces only to reveal this wonderful wood grain. I painted the rest heirloom white. Here are some before and after pictures.
It had this wonderful carved flower detail on the front that I thought it looked great in its natural finish.
Here is another transformation. I picked up this brass easel.  It was nice in brass but it didn't look like a shabby chic inspired item.  All I had to do was paint it white and it transformed into the very ornate shabby chic stand.
Yesterday I went to my booth and loaded it up with all my great finds I found over the weekend.
Crystal flower candle holders
Porcelain blue and white tea pot wall decoration.
Antique Italian painted pictures in metal frames
If your in the area of Julington Creek stop by Sugar Bears Antique Mall.  My booth number is 34.

New Found Treasures for my Shabby Chic Inspirations Booth

Today I was out bright and early looking for some treasures so I could put in my Shabby Chic Inspirations booth. Here is what I found.  I want to paint three items in this group. First item is the end table, the merior and the wood arched shelves.  When I have them completed I will post the results.
Crystal Flower Candle Holders
Glass Flowers
I have not started up an Etsy account yet only because the items are lasting only a couple of days in my booth. I would hate to miss lead anyone in thinking the item is available only to find that it have been purchased out of the Mall. If you are in the area of Julington Creek please stop by Sugar Bears Antique Mall and my booth number is 34. Or you could e-mail me if you are interested in something and you wish to have it shipped. I will check on it availability and get back to you.

I just had to post a second time today.

We are down to the last few days of school and the Cisco Kids teacher is doing theme days every day this week. Today's theme is Tacky Tourist. We live in Florida and we all know that Florida is a hot spot for Tacky Tourists. Since we take lots of vacations in Disney we know all about the tacky tourist look and I can say today the Cisco Kid fits right in.

My blog is close to becoming a Book.

I have had a little set back when my computer died. Thank goodness my husband was able to retrieve all my pictures and blog book off my hard drive. I now have to do my blog book on my lap top and let me tell you!!!!! Looking at all that detail on a small screen is enough to make me go blind. So at this point it is a very slow process. I am so grateful for my father in law and his ability to fix computers. He offered to get my computer up and running again. Within the next few weeks we are going to head down south for a visit.

Here is a sneak peek of some pages I have completed. I can’t wait until it is all done so I can finally see it completed.

A meal in less than 30 minutes. Chicken Tortellini in pesto sauce.

The Chief grilled out some chicken the night before and I used it in this delicious dinner that took less than 30 minutes.
I didn't take any pictures of the ingredients because I didn't think it was going to come out as good as it did.
These two ingredients are the key to the sauce.
9 oz package of Buitoni Tortellini
2 cups of vegetable stock
1/8 cup of olive oil
1 cup of diced onion
Three cloves of garlic chipped
2 cups of cooked diced chicken breast
2 cups of frozen string beans
Three heaping tbs. of basil and herb blend

I started off by boiling the water for the tortellini. Once the water started to boil I put the tortellini in and stirred. Then I took out my wok and heated up 1/8 cup of olive oil. Once the olive oil was nice and hot I added 1 cup of diced onions with three chopped cloves of garlic. By the time the onions and garlic are nice and brown the tortellini were done. I then added the frozen string beans, diced cooked chicken, vegetable stock, cooked tortellini and basis and herb blend to the onions and garlic. Salt and pepper to taste. Simmer with the lid on for ten minutes and serve.
