Blue & Gold

Once a year there is an advancement ceremony for Cub Scouts called Blue & Gold. This is where all the boys get recognition for all their hard work and receive their advancement badges. The Cisco Kid and his Den received their Wolf badge.

The Agricultural center was kind enough to donate their space to us for our Banquet. The Committee and I were at the venue by 11:00 a.m. to decorate. Of course the decorations were all in Blue & Gold but we had a theme on stage representing camping.  I made sure all the kids had something to do while the ceremony was going on, so I got coloring & game placemat's  I also added clay post that I painted gold on the tables filled with crayons.

We had it catered by Bono's BBQ and they served pork, turkey, and beef with green bean, baked beans and mac n cheese. They also provided drinks and their banana pudding for desert. We also had cookies there that were donated by Publix. For a fun drink for the kids we had a slushy company come in and have self serve slushy’s.

Lemonade anyone

It was such a great day yesterday the weather was perfect and all the neighbors were either working in their yards or coming home from Church.  The Cisco Kid saw this as an opportunity to sell Lemonade.  He has wanted to set up a Lemonade stand for the longest time.  I was busy working on some of my Antique rejects so he did this all by himself.  He used the Pink Lemonade and cups that were leftover from the Blue and Gold ceremony.  He put ice in the ice chest, made his own sign and made sure there was a garbage can out for trash.  This is what he came up with.  He let everyone know that he is trying to raise money for his pack so they can go camping in Disney.

Home sweet home

It is always good to go away for vacation but it is always just a s good to come home.  We left yesterday morning and drove home.  For some reason the Biltmore house closes at 3:30 and we just did not make it in time to walk through.  After a very active week in Washington D.C. we were doing allot of relaxing and seeing the Estate Grounds.  Oh Well!!!  I guess we will have to go back.
