Scout hike and when we got home the Cisco kid started complaining about his ear aching. I gave him some Tylenol and that seemed to help the pain temporarily. I put a small patch over his ear during the night so it would not catch a draft. Around 3:00 a.m. he woke up crying in pain. I removed the patch and there was a drop of blood the size of a pencil eraser on the patch. I looked in his ear and nothing was dripping. The small amount of blood was all dried. The first thing we did this morning was go to Solantic. The doctor examined the Cisco Kid and said that he has a small perforation on his ear drum. One of the questions the Doctor asked was if he has a runny nose. Yes he does!!! The doctor then said that is what caused the perforation. He also said it is very common when he blows his nose or sneezes the pressure will blow out his ear drum and couse the perforation.
The doctor gave us a couple of prescriptions. One was Amoxicillin and Ciproxex Otic ear drops. Today the Cisco Kid is doing much better.
Yesterday after we got back from our hike I decided to try to get the Cisco Kids mind off his ear. He helped me decorate a heart cake for Valentines. As you can see in this picture his ear is hurting him.
I decided to decorate the cake with vines and flowers.
I could have left it with just the vines and leafs but I wanted to load it up with flowers.
Today we not only celebrated Valentine’s Day but the Chief and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. The Chief had reservations at J Alexander’s Restaurant for dinner. Because of the Cisco Kids ear infection we decided to postpone dinner. After seeing the doctor this morning we did grab a quick bite to eat at the Dinner Grill that serves great breakfasts. I know the Cisco Kid feels just fine when he still wants to eat cake.

How terrible that TCK doesn't feel good. His ear problem does not sound good. Get better soon CK! Happy Anniversary to you and The Chief! At least you were able to have the special treat of your pretty heart cake, even if you couldn't go to the restaurant you reserved. Congratulations on 13 years!
