I have been so busy trying to get all my Antique Booth items together. I have been thinking of a name for my booth and I came up with “Shabby Chic inspirations” Since my items are not shabby anymore, they have become chic and very inspirational in design I thought the name Shabby Chic Inspirations was a good fit.
My booth size is a 6x6. Sounds small but when you start to add shelves it adds so much space. My goal is to perfectly decorate the 6x6 space so it looks cozy and homey.
I found two chairs that would match perfectly for the black table I just got done painting. I will post some pictures of completed items shortly. I will also open an Etsy account so these items could be purchased on line. Keep a lookout and perhaps you could get some ideas on how to refurbish something of your own.

Homemade summer salad bar.
I love salads!!! Especially when I make them at home with all my favorite toppings. What I do to make it easily accessible is prep everything in advance and put all the toppings in small individual dishes. When I want a salad during the week all I have to do is take out the trays and I have an instant salad bar.
My favorite Items are:
Cheese
Green olives
Artichokes
Boiled egg
Honey baked ham
Grilled chicken
Onions
Cucumber
Carrots
Celery
Tomatoes
Mini gherkins
Dried Cranberries
Sunflower seeds
I mixed the carrots and celery together because they are they same texture and it would save on an extra condiment dish.
I spiced up the diced tomatoes with fresh parsley.
My dressing of choice is my home made basil, roasted red pepper balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
Dressing
1/2 cup of Olive Oil
1/4 cup of Balsamic Vinaigrette
1/2 cup parsley
2 cups of roasted red peppers
1/2 cup of sun dried tomatoes pesto
2 tablespoons of Mrs. Dash tomatoes basil garlic
1/4 cup of fresh basil or basil pesto
3 cloves of garlic
In a food processer, blend all ingredients except for the Olive Oil and balsamic vinaigrette. After everything is mixed, slowly add the balsamic vinaigrette while mixing. Once the balsamic vinaigrette is incorporated, do the same with the Olive Oil. Pour dressing in a container and refridgerate.
I made some homemade crustiness. I put some olive oil in a bowl with Mrs. Dash, Tomato Basil Garlic seasoning. Then add kosher salt to taste. I then brushed the bread slices with the mixture and baked for ten minutes.

Antiques, Cottage Style
It has been a year and a half since I had my antique booth. I used my booth as a creative and decorating outlet. I enjoyed painting and refinishing furniture then setting it up in my booth. I decided last week I would open one up again in Sugar Bears Antique Mall near Julington Creek. I went out this past weekend and found some real treasures. One of them is this 1947 drop leaf table. You can also see the steps it took to complete the job. I will be at Sugar Bears on Monday setting up my booth. Once it is done I will post some pictures.
Here is my Vintage 1947 drop leaf table I refinished.

As I sanded the table it revealed four separate layers of colors.
After I sanded it nice and smooth I painted it black.
I thought it could use one of my special touches so I painted some flowers on it.

Two families, all friends and lots of activities.
Two families, all friends and lots of activities is a perfect recipe for a good time. Now that The Cisco Kids activities are all completed it was great to see and spend some time with our friends. It took me all about one minute to agree with Kimberly when she suggested we should go out. We started our adventure at 3:00 p.m. We started off with a Shark Documentary movie at I MAX. The movie theater just happens to be walking distance to a mini golf course. The posse (aka husbands) and the little rascals (aka children) played 18 holes of golf as the Mom Squad (aka Mom's) cheered them on and talked to our hearts content. After playing golf we were all very hungry. We heard of this great restaurant called Aunt Kate's. The food was great and it was located on the intercostal. The best part was the beach was located right across the street. After dinner we took a stroll on the beach. The little rascals had a blast. For us this was the first time we have been to the beach in about ten months. Even though we live in Florida and only about 30 minutes from the beach, we rarely get to go. It seems as though life gets in the way. We all started out saying to the little rascals. Don't get wet above your knees. Well our friends did real good. Not my little one he was all into the water, sand and digging a big hole. It seems that boy will dig a hole every chance he gets.
All the pictures you are about to see are courtesy of Kimberly. I was rushing out the door and forgot my camera. Kimberly I love all the pictures. You captured every fun moment of our adventure. Thank you so very much.

He always has to strike a very funny pose.
Parking was across the street from the beach so they had a walking overpass for public access.
I found a Sharks tooth!!
I showed the little rascles how to look for Sharks teeth.
He thought it was the funniest thing when a wave washed into his hole. He would dig even faster.
Bottoms up!!!
It's time to gather our things and head out.
What a perfect day. It was so nice of Kimberly to suggest getting together. If it wasn't for her we still would have not been to the beach.
