The Pine Wood Derby Race

Over the past few weeks The Cisco Kid has been working on his car for the Pine Wood Derby Race.  He has put several coats of paint on it to make it slick.
Yesterday the race was on! The Assistant Cub Master did a great job in getting these entire trophies’s for the boys.  Every boy will get a ribbon for racing.  Each Den has a trophy for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Then there is a very large trophy for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in the Pack.
Time to weigh and measure their cars for the race.
They weigh their cars on a professional digital scale.  I am always worried that we will be overweight because we use a food scale that I have had for years.
Fits in the box perfectly!
On my scale it weighed 5 oz. exactly.  It actually weighed 4.8 oz. Whew!!!!
All the boys raced three times. This gives them a chance to race on each track one time. Since the track is all electronic it calculates the race in time and miles per hour. The first time The Cisco Kid raced he came in first place with a new track record of 2.58 seconds at 191.4 mph. His third race he came in 1st place with a time of 2.69 seconds and 183.6 mph. The third race he came in third place. Connor won third place in our Den and two other boys in our den came in 1st and second in the Pack. Way to go Wolf's!!!
