What a day!

My day started off really good. Then it was time to go to my Piano lesson. I grab my phone, put on my shoes, open the door to the garage, OH NO, the door won’t open. 1st thought, how can I get into the garage to get my truck out? Garage door….No! It's on remote control and the control is in the truck. 2nd thought, Is the back door open to the garage? No such luck. 3rd thought, I have to get in there so I could pick up my baby from school in 1 hour. Next, I called the Chief. He gave me a simple solution. Un-screw the door handle. Not so simple when all the tools are in the GARAGE!!!! What good is a junk drawer when there’s no screwdriver in it?

Finally I found this. The Chief's old Coast Guard tool.....

I Remembered it opened up.

It has a screwdriver! Yes..

The reenactment.

As you can see I did get the door open in time to pick up my son.

This week the show us where you live Friday Nurseries/Children’s Rooms

Kelly's Show us where you live Friday
This is my son’s bedroom. I painted this room when I was 26 weeks pregnant. Now he is six years old. Due to the obvious reasons, I couldn’t stand on a ladder reaching to high places. My husband helped me out by paint two large stripes on the walls. 1st stripe is in beige, 2nd stripe is in blue. Then I started to paint all the clouds and characters, blending the water to the sand.

My husband built the roof out of 2x4 wood. I covered it in burlap and fishing net. Then I added some bugs and grass. I hung Frog out door lights underneath.

I covered the light with a small Eagle kite. I left the original light cover on the light so it wouldn't melt the kite.

The bed is a trundle bed with drawers under that. The train table I made out of 2x4 wood and I purchased the Thomas the tank engine Island adventure play board. I could not justify the high cost of those tables when I can make it for 25.oo. My son has been putting stickers on it for years making it his own.
This was just an out cove and my husband put shelves and desktop. It works for storage.

I hand painted from The Emperor’s New Grove.

I hand painted Peter Pan and all the characters.

I hand painted Lady and the Tramp.

This weeks homework. Full packet.

The homework is getting lighter. Usually there are 6 to 8 pages to complete.
The end of the year is getting close.

Strolling down memory lane.

How fast they grow. One day he is my darling little cutie, full of his own special personality and only dependent on me. I would watch him for hours. I didn’t want to miss one moment. He was born at 29 weeks and his weight was 3 lbs 8 oz. I could not find a pair of shoes small enough to fit him.

Six years later he is still my darling little cutie. Weighing 58 lbs. and wearing size 2-1/2 shoes, with a special personality that has turned into a special attitude. The phases of his life are amazing and changing all the time. What will the next 6 years be like?

Fother and son bonding over building a modle

They sure do enjoy doing things together. This is one of Chiefs models

I love to entertain

Three times a year we have a community block party. We alternate houses and the host of the party makes the main dish. All the other families bring a dish to complements the main meal. I had an Italian night. I made Lasagna and Eggplant Parmigian. All the food was wonderful.

Tiramisu, on the lighter side
