Bubbling over

Two weeks ago at our pack meeting the Webelows demonstrated how a volcano worked. After their demonstration, they presented the Volcano to the Cub Scout Den. I thought that was so nice for them to give something they worked so hard on away.
This week the Tiger Cubs had so much fun being part of the experiment. I had each one of them start by putting a pinch of Baking soda into the mouth of the Volcano. Since they have seen it work before and they remembered how much baking soda the Webelows put in to get their results, the boys started chanting. Add more powder.... Add more powder. Therefore, we added more powder. Then we mixed some red food coloring in with Vinegar. We then poured it into the Volcano. Not only did the volcano erupt but the boys erupted with excitement as well.
Mixing the Vinegar and food coloring together.
All the boys receive their well deserved beads for all their achievements.
The end of the evening we celebrated The Cisco Kids Birthday with homemade cup cakes.
I guess it was good to the last drop.

My Scrapbooking is in progress.

I am several years behind in my scrapbooking. I have only completed a few pages in my new scrapbooking room. This is our last vacation that I scrapbooked about.  I still have a long way to go. On July 2005 we went on vacation in New Hampshire with one of our very dear friends. We rented a large six bedroom house right on Lake Winnipesaukee.
We drove around and saw some old covered bridges. There was one that was my favorite. They had turned it into a gift shop.
This is the first time The Cisco Kid drove a motorized vehicle. At 2-1/2 years old, he caught on to it so fast. He figured out how to put the money in and he was so precise with his driving. It amazed me.
We boarded the Hobo express where we traveled all the sights. It was a four hour train ride with one stop for shopping. They called it the Hobo express because they served a Hobo lunch. Their lunch consisted of ham and cheese sandwiches, hotdogs and chips.
We rented a boat and cruised the lake, did some tubing but not before we went to purchase some wet suites. Even though it was July the water was about fifty degrees.
This 4th of July parade was so quaint. Allot of the locals had participated in the parade. It reminded me of an old fashioned homey 4th of July.

Super Bowl munchies!!!!!

This is a great snack for Super bowl Sunday. Sugar free, Homemade Granola!!!! I have to tell you that this is the best snack. Its sugar free, it has tons of fiber and protein. It even tastes great on a salad.
1 cups of each, Pecans, chopped Walnuts, chopped Almonds, Sunflower seeds, Quick cook Oats and dried mixed fruit.
1 cup of sesame seeds
1 tea spoon of each, cinnamon, cloves, imitation butter flavoring and pure vanilla extract.
1/2 teaspoon of Cayenne pepper
6 oz. of All Whites
1/2 cup of Splenda
1/2 cup of Splenda Brown Sugar

Mix the following ingredients in a bowl.

All Whites, cinnamon, cloves, imitation butter, vanilla extract, cayenne pepper, Splenda and Splenda Brown Sugar. Mix well together.

Mix all the remaining dry ingredients together in a large bowl and pour the egg mixture over the top. Mix until all the nuts are coated.

Line a cookie sheet with quick release aluminum foil.

Place the mixture on the cookie sheet. It should only be about 1/2 inch think. If there is mixture left over you can put it on another cookie sheet and bake.

Bake at 350 degrees for twenty minutes.

Once granola is cooled it can be broken apart in large chunks.

My new favorite place to eat.

Over the weekend we stopped into Chipotle Mexican restaurant. I didn't realize it was more of a fast food place. The menu is on the wall and you can watch them make it right in front of you. I have heard that their meats are grown in a humane environment and they use all fresh ingredients. The food was so good... I am hooked. I ordered the Chicken burrito bowl and the Chief ordered the Steak burrito. I'm going to say it again. The food was so good. You can tell that everything is fresh.
