Life with Grandma and Grandpa.

This is a glimpse of our life with Grandma and Grandpa (A.K.A. my Mother and Father in laws). Grandma and Grandpa live five long hours from where we live, but that doesn’t stop them from visiting us on every holiday and every one of the Cisco Kids Birthdays. We have also spent a few family vacations together.

Grandpa and the Cisco Kid love their time on the golf cart. Grandma always has an adventure up her sleeve. When Grandma and the Cisco Kid get together you can’t pull them apart. We all enjoy the time we spend together. The Disney food server turned us all into Pirates. Disney Cruise 2006Fun with stickers.
Grandma got a big bubble machine. The Chief and his dad doing the male bonding thing on the Computers. The Cisco Kids 5th Birthday.

Kissed by a frog!

Thank you so much, Pair Slices, Life with the Boys, Family Affair , The Beach Family Updates, Me My Boys and a Little Dog and Oswald Ctuies for sharing your wonderful posts on "What would your children say?" Wednesday It was lots of fun reading what your little ones come up with. I'm looking forward to next Wednesday.
Yesterday we had the Cisco Kids annual physical. Everything was just fine, except I showed the doctor a wart that has been growing on his elbow. He took one look at it and said. Those pesky warts!
Let me start off by saying. He is a premature baby specialist and one excellent Pediatrician. We LOVE, LOVE, him. We have been going to him since the Cisco Kid was born.
The Doctor told me what I needed to do to get rid of it. Now.....I thought he was going to send me to a dermatologist to have it frozen off or even have it surgically removed. Nope!!! Neither one. He told me to get some compound W and cover it with Duct Tape. What, I said. He said that there is something in the tape that reacts with the Compound W and makes them go away. OK. I am putting my faith in my doctor and give it a try. They say there are 101 uses for duct tape. If this works, there will be 102 uses. LOL!!!!

It's another Wednesday of "What would your children say?"

Children are amazing the way their little minds work. The things they say and do are so cute and priceless.

Last week we were in Target and every toy we passed The Cisco kid immediately said, mom can I have that toy? Immediately I answered no! We passed another toy and he asked the same question and I repeated my same answered. This was my son’s cute response to my no answer.

Please mom can I have that toy? You are my only hope. Please, please, please.

I just cracked up. I thought…. Oh my gosh!! I’m his only hope. How pitiful is that. It just goes to show how the smallest thing is a very big deal.

If your thinking, did I get him the toy. No, I did not. But the I love you was flying back and forth.

Up Close and Personal

These are some of my favorite photos as we are on one of our adventures in the Serengeti Plains, Bush Gardens. It was special to have the Giraffe roam around the park and just walk up to the truck so we could feed her.

Layered Mexican Chicken Pie

One big NO! NO! We have all heard time and time again. Never go grocery shopping when you are hungry. Well I totally ignored that rule. I was so hungry and I wanted Mexican. As I was shopping I got these items and thought, this could get ugly, complicated and messy. I like my one pot meals and I try to keep it down to 10 ingredients per meal. Then I had a thought, layering everything in a pie plate. I wasn't sure how this was going to come out but I was hungry and all these ingredients sounded so good. When I got home I immediately started working on this. It took about 50 minutes to make. It came out so good, so rich in flavor. My husband loved this so much, he said, I have to put this in my Family Heritage Cookbook section so I can remember to make it again. But I have to post it in my D.I.E.T.? 15 minute meal section because it is only 9 points per serving. Now that is good Mexican.
