Official birthday Celebration 3 of 3

A birthday is not quite complete unless you bring in some treats and celebrate with the class.  Yesterday afternoon I brought some of The Cisco Kid favorite Krispy Kreme donuts to his class.  He was so happy to share these chocolate & sprinkle covered donuts with everyone.  From what I here... everyone in the class enjoyed them just as much.
Everyone is singing happy birthday to him and he is acting shy, but we all know that shy is not part of his personality.

All three birthday celebrations are complete with great success and fun.  Until next year...What will his expectations be to celebrate him turning ten?????  One can only imagine.

Official Birthday Celebration 2 of 3

Sunday afternoon we had some dear friends visit us for The Cisco Kids birthday. Their visit made his birthday very special. One of the wish items on the Cisco Kids list where Legos. We did not get him any Legos but our friends did and that just made his day. The little rascales made The Cisco Kid some really great cards and The Cisco Kid spent a long time looking and analyzing the cards. He really liked them. I have never seen him look at a card so long knowing there were some gifts to open. Thanks so much Mr. G and Ms. A for the great art work and special note on the cards and gifts. The pictures are worth a thousand words.

Thanks Mrs. K for taking some great pictures.

Official Birthday Celebration Number 1 of 3

Monday is officially The Cisco Kids Birthday. We decided to celebrate his birthday on Sunday because Monday is a busy day with school and Activities I really wanted him to just enjoy the moment. Let me just start out by saying that Tuesday we went to Wall Mart. The Chief and The Cisco Kid walked around all the toy isle and took pictures of everything The Cisco Kid wanted for his birthday. A short while after they showed me all the toys The Cisco Kid wanted. There were multiple Nerf guns, Light Saber, Lego’s, Bay Blades and the list goes on. I immediately said you are only getting two gifts. This is not Christmas.

On Friday the Chief came home with The Cisco Kids birthday gifts, two Nerf Guns and the Light Saber. I think the Chief technically considers the two Guns as one gift because they are in the same toy family. I know the both of them are thinking on the same lines of.....What good is one gun if you do not have anyone shooting back.

Right after lunch on Sunday we did not waste any time in giving The Cisco Kid his birthday presents.
He was overjoyed with them. My two boys ran around the house ambushing and shooting each other.

Late Friday a box arrived for The Cisco Kid.  It was a gift from Grandma and Grandpa.  The Cisco Kid wanted to open it up right away.  We decided it was just too late and told him to wait until morning.  Well!!!! Paybacks are…You know what…. He woke us up at six a.m. on Saturday morning wanting to open his gifts.   Of course we are in bed and he has this great big box in bed with us opening it up and loving everything he was pulling out.  Every time we went to Grandma and Grandpas house there was this metal plane that was given to the Chief when he was little by his grandmother.  The Cisco Kid would play with it all the time.  That was one of the items in the box and when The Cisco Kid saw it he said this is very precious and I will pass it down to my kids.  That was better than any store bought gift he could have gotten.  The Cisco Kid also got his very first Gift card.  This was no ordinary toy store gift card this was a gift card to purchase games for his IPod.  Thank you Grandma and Grandpa.  The Cisco Kid loves everything and will always treasure it.

9 years old, I cant beleive it!

Time....... it goes by so fast. When you’re young time is slow and as you get older it seems to fly by in seconds. The Cisco Kid turns nine tomorrow and that is all he has been talking about all weekend. He thinks this whole weekend is all about his birthday and we should cater to his every whim. Every time I ask him to do something he says...Why, it's my birthday. I asked him to clean his room. He said...but why mom, it's my birthday. After two hours on his I pod I asked him to put it down. He said....but why mom, it's my birthday. I asked him to eat lunch before he could eat a pack of gummies. He said.... but why mom, it's my birthday. OK I'm all for celebrating birthdays but soon this kid is going to start celebrating a month before his birthday. What happened to getting a cake some presents, singing happy birthday and that was it???

This is my answer to....But why mom it’s my birthday!!!!!
My promise to my child...as long as I live...I am your Parent first, your Friend second. I will stalk you, flip out on you, lecture you, drive you insane, be your worst nightmare & hunt you down like a bloodhound when needed because I LOVE YOU! When you understand that, I will know you are a responsible adult. You will NEVER find someone who loves, prays, cares, & worries about you more than I do! If you don't hate me once in your life....I am not doing my job properly. Happy birthday sweetie!

Every year I make The Cisco Kid a theme cake. He loves the Angry Birds games. So Angry Birds cake it is.

I found a new cupcake cake mix that I bake it into a cake instead of the cupcakes. It's by Betty Crocker and it's called Fun da-middles. They are cupcakes with cream baked inside. Instead of putting the batter in cupcake cups I put the batter in a cake tin. To make The Cisco Kids Cake I used two boxes so the cake is nice and tall. I used lots of different kinds of chocolate bars to make the structure. I made all the Angry Birds characters out of molded chocolate. Then I covered the cake with butter cream icing.
