FCAT grades are in

The Cisco Kid is one of those children that think he knows everything. If he is shown something once, he thinks there is nothing more he could learn. I constantly tell him that if he thinks he knows everything he will stop learning. This mentality of his showed up at the beginning of the school year and the teacher picked up on it right away. She knew this was going to be a problem with his work. He was starting to get in the habit of rushing through his work and making mistakes. We all knew he was totally capable of achieving high grades. With that said, I derived this plan and totally bribed him into doing what was best for him. I told him if he gets threes on his FCAT test he will have to go to summer school. If he received fours on his FCAT test he could chose three of anything he wants as a gift. If he received fives on his FCAT test he could have a shopping spree at Toys "R" us. When the Chief heard about the shopping spree his jaw dropped and said, if he get fives there will be no stopping him. We will be in trouble. I guess we are lucky he did not get fives. He did get fours and this little boy is reaping in rewards. 

We spent about an hour in Toys "R" us. He picked out a Lego Clock Radio and an electric Razor scooter. His third gift was something he has been wanting for months and I refused to get for him, Converse high top sneakers.

They got back from riding around the neighborhood and the Chief was out of breath. The Razor goes 15 MPH and the Chief had a hard time keeping up on his bike. That is the kind of exercise the doctor ordered for the Chief. I guess it is my turn.

 

Completing the God and Me Religious Emblem for Scouts.

 

The Church was so nice to help us with completing the religious Emblem for Cub Scouts. 

I had prepared all the games for the pastor to use during his class.  First through third grade is God and Me, fourth and fifth grade is God and Family and sixth grade is God and Church.  In one of our Den Meetings we completed all the games and the game box.  The Pastor used the games in his class as a fun way of teaching the boys about their relationship with God.   

I had to retire my Camera

I have had my Canon Power Shot Sx20 for about three years and it has been through the ringer.  I had dropped it a couple of times.  But that was not the problem.  I constantly removed the card so I could download the pictures into my laptop.  Doing this caused the cards to break.  This last time it broke inside the camera and now when I put the card back in the camera it will not snap in.     Now for everyone that knows me, knows that I can’t go a day without my camera.  I went and got a new Canon Rebel T3i and it is amazing.  The pictures are so amazing in every type of setting. 

Yesterday was our last Den meeting at the school until the fall. We have one more meeting at the Church so the boys can complete their Religious emblem. In the Third Grade it is called God and Me. The pastor at the church was kind enough to offer his time and teach the boys what they need to know for this achievement. They had to make a Game Box and four games. Game Box stands for God And Me BOX. The games all coincided with their student handbook.

This is the emblem they will receive along with the Religious Cub Scout knot and a small pin signifying how many classes they completed.   

   

Olympic Celebration at School.

The School wanted to have a celebration for the Olympics and every class represented a country. The Cisco Kid's Class represented Great Britain. They all had the British flags on their backs and they carried the Olympic flame around their necks. They also had sun visors with some England landmarks on them.

Mrs. H, wanted to give the class a treat that represents the Olympics and she asked me to make something. Since they were wearing the Olympic flame around their necks I thought it would be fun to see there expressions when they had the Olympic Torch made out of Ice cream cones.

Mother's Day Made Perfect

It all started this morning when my two men let me sleep in. I woke up at 8:30 and found the bedroom door was closed and they were being very quiet so I could sleep. As soon as I sat down they started bringing me my Mother’s Day gifts. My little guy made me a very special hand painting and got me a rose that opens up and says...Love You Lots! Hubby got me a camcorder. They both got me four Skylander gaming characters. I think we all will enjoy those. Later in the day we went to see a movie that I have wanted to see. Mirror Mirror! The rest of the evening is going to be all about relaxing.
