The Cisco Kid has so much fun at his Grandparents house.

Going to Grandma and Grandpas house is always lots of fun. They took us to the imaginarium. The Cisco Kid could not get enough of all the things they had there to get the imagination going.

There was a sign by this bird that said. Sing to me and I will dance. Here Grandma and The Cisco Kid are singing to the bird. As hard as they tried the bird was not in the mood to dance. 

This was really cool!!! It was a storm simulator complete with clouds, thunder, lightning and rain down the side walls.

 

This was a cloud simulator.  The Cisco Kid thought the cloud would feel different. He thought it would be a little more like a solid than smoke.  

A replica of a real Dinosaur

A dinosaur dig is always his favorite.  

There was a whole exhibit of many kinds of dinosaurs. They all moved.

This was a hurricane simulator with winds reached 45 miles per hour. It was very loud in there from the fan. 

Defying the laws of gravity.

Eight different sounds with different lengths of pvc pipe. 

Grandma was playing jingle bells and doing really good. 

This was a way to communicate through a pipe. One very long pipe that the Cisco Kid talked through one end and the Chief talked through the opposite end. They heard each other as if they were standing next to each other.

The Cisco Kid is squatting down because the Dinosaur was moving his head and he was afraid it was going to get to close to him. 

As we were leaving, the imaginarium there was a store with lots of cool thing. We just had to try Astronaut Ice Cream Sandwich. 

As soon as we got back to grandma’s house, we had to try it.

Of course, it was freeze-dried. Hard as a rock, but it tasted just like a real Ice cream sandwich. We all thought it would give you the real feel of ice cream if it were cold. It was totally amazing!!!!

The Cisco Kid said he could eat this and he did.

The imaginarium was a huge hit.

Easter Bread

Family Heritage Easter Bread

I only make certain foods certain times of the year. I wait all year for my Easter Bread. The Easter bread is a delicious bread stuffed with two kinds of cheese, pepperoni and ham.

When my mother made this, she started the dough from scratch. I use the time saving method. I buy the frozen bread dough. She also used prosciutto ham. I use baked ham. There is less fat in baked ham.

15 oz. Ricotta Cheese
2 cloves of garlic chopped
8 oz. of Pepperoni
10 oz. sliced ham
2 tablespoons of Basil. chopped fresh or pesto
3 eggs
2 1-lb. loaves of frozen Ready dough, defrosted
2 cups of mozzarella cheese

Mix Ricotta Cheese, 2 eggs, garlic and basil together and set aside.

Lay the 2 one lb. loaves of dough side by side, overlapping slightly and roll out to 20 x10 inch size.

Spread the cheese mixture on top of the dough leaving a rim of 1/2 inch.

Layer the ham, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese. Start to roll the dough and sealing all the edges.

Spray a 12 inch round baking pan with a non stick spray. Then put the rolled dough in the pan, making it into a circle. Scramble the remaining egg and spread over the top of the dough. This will give the bread a nice shinny coat. Cover the bread with a cloth and let it sit out and rise for 1/2 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for fifty minutes.

Cream all the ingredients together.

I used two one pound loves of dough.

Make sure your surface is well flowered so when it is time to roll the dough it will not stick to your table surface. 

Spread the cheese mixture over the top of the tough.  Go 1/2 inch in from the sides.

Start layering all your ingredients.

Once you have all the ingredients on the dough, you can start to roll it up.

My mother baked her bread in a traditional loaf pan with hard boiled colored eggs on top. I think I lent mine out so I had to improvise. I decided to cook it in a cake pan.

The Easter Bunny has arrived.

Easter Morning!

The Cisco Kid woke up yesterday very early to see what the Easter Bunny brought him. He was so excited to see all the little goodies in the basket. He loves his Easter basket so much that he doesn’t want to mess it up. He is so funny about how he takes things out of the basket. I remember when I got an Easter basket I took everything out and laid it out on the floor so I could see it all. The Cisco Kid sat there for an hour just looking at it and examining it all. When the Chief asked if he could take the Lego box out of the basket the Cisco Kid said, no! I like it there.

I love all the corny little easter toys.

He spotted a cookie and cream chocolate bunny and dove right in.

Later that Afternoon we were invited to spend Easter with our dear friends and their family.

They threw a wonderful easter dinner and did something very special for the kids. I am going to start with the wonderful dinner and desert she had set up. I wanted to contribute something to her wonderful meal so I brought my families traditional bread recipe my mother would make every easter. I will post my mothers easter bread recipe tomorrow.

The cupcakes were decorated so beautifully. The brownies were so good. The Banana pudding was put out after I took this picture but it was delish!!! To top it all off she served vanilla Ice cream with her Grandmothers special mint sauce. I love mint and I have never had this before. She took York peppermint patties and melted them in the microwave then added just enough half and half cream to make a smooth and creamy topping. It was sooooo good!!! 

She had an easter egg hunt with over 150 eggs. The eggs where filled with such great little toys and candy.  We had them wait in one of the bedrooms so we could hide all the eggs.

Here they are ready to start running and get their eggs.  

They had a special gift bag and water shooter for the Cisco Kid.

We are so appreciative to have such great friends.
