All it took was ten hours and then we were in the city where the President of the United States lives. This city is amazing, not only with the beautiful architecture but with so much history. We walked the streets and at every turn there was something to see and talk about. We checked into the Willard Hotel and it is AMAZING!!!!
There is so much more to see in Washington DC. I am going to post every step of the way.
The room is so presidential like.
The Cisco Kids favorite part about the room. The desk! He could not wait to get his laptop connected.
A four star hotel is not complete without a mini bar.
The Chiefs Idea of a four star hotel is haviing a real bottle of scope available.
As we were walking through one of the parks, The Cisco Kid saw a great tree he just had to stand on.
Our first day in Washington DC and already we have had an adventure that you do not see every day. The president's helicopter, flying the president home. The helicopter landed right in front of the White House.
If you click on the picture you can see a man on the roof of the White House. The Chief says that this guy is a counter sniper.
Washington World War II Memorial
This is still under construction. There are two sides to this memorial. All states are represented on both sides of the memorial, The Pacific and the Atlantic.
The Cisco Kid standing in front of Florida.
The Lincoln Memorial.
The Vietnam Memorial.
The Chief and The Cisco Kid has lost their cousin to the Vietnam war.
There were over 55, 000 men and women that died in this war and we were able to find his name on the wall.
WOW! The hotel looks gorgeous! I love that it looks so American presidential too! I agree with The Chief...you know you have arrived when you get a free bottle of Scope to stay minty fresh! Ha! Ha! That is sooooooo cool that the president flew right over you in his helicopter...what a great story for TCK to tell his class when he gets back. SO nice they were also able to find their cousin's name. Thanks for posting such great photos! I am enjoying seeing them all.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your experience. It looks like you all had a great time. I recently visited the DC area and had an awesome time. There were just so many sites to see and explore. Everything about my visit was fantastic. I even got a great locksmith in Washington DC to help me out when I locked my keys in my car.
