Yesterday was the first day of school.
A mother’s worry!! The superintendent of schools left a message on my cell letting us know that the health department is anticipating children to experience flue like symptoms. What I heard was, the health department is anticipating children getting the H1N1 virus, aka swine flu. Now if that isn’t bad enough, check this out. Yesterday I took The Cisco Kid to his class. I overheard another parent ask the Teacher…. Do you have antibacterial wipes and do the children use them often? The Teacher said YES!! The parent then said, I have two infants that are very sick and they are both in the hospital. Talk about raising the hair on the back of your neck. Her little boy sits two desks down from my son. I was told later that day the infants do not have the swine flu.
My little baby is growing up. This year it is 1st grade and it was just yesterday when he started pre-k for 3 year olds.
Friday was orientation and meet the Teacher. We had fun finding his new class, meeting his new Teacher and seeing all his friends. When we got into the classroom we found where he was going to sit and Mrs S. had a homework sheet for them to complete by Monday. We couldn’t leave before we stopped by to see Mrs B. She was the Cisco Kids Kindergarten teacher from last year. She was so happy to see him and he just loves her.
Yesterday: the first day of school. Everything is so busy at school. There were people everywhere. I walked The Cisco Kid into School and to his class. I’m so glad I wasn’t alone taking picture. There were about 100 other parents snapping away.
Homework.

1st paper work for the year.
TCK looks like such a big boy going into first grade!!! WOW!! Love the poster he made...we only had to fill a bag of three items that tell something about the student (a bit of a "show and tell" about yourself), so they could share in class. As far as the flu goes, I am TRYING to keep my worries in check for now. "They" say in many ways it is no worse than the regular flu, which isn't fun, BUT....If it is that widespread in a few months, I almost feel like my family ALWAYS get sick, even with our flu shots, so there's not much more I can do except keep stressing to wash hands. Let's hope it doesn't get out of control bad.
ReplyDeletewhat great pix!!!!!
