The Renovation is complete.

For the BIG reveal!!!!!! The Scrapbooking/craft/guest room is complete. Since the room is a multipurpose room I needed it to be very organized and spacious. For the guest bedroom portion we decided to get a Murphy bed and since I needed it to store all my crafts I ordered one with shelving, lots of shelving. We got the Murphy bed in on Friday and it took them six hours to put it in.

Now that I am done with my reno I have turned my attention to my photography.

I would apreciat your support. Like me on Facebook

The shelving folds back so the bed could be pulled down.

I love the fact you can fold the bed up with all the bedding still on the bed and it stays intact.  It has a belt that straps the bedding down so it won't move when the bed is folded up.  I also screwed a picture to the wall so it won't move when the bed is closed.
The Cisco Kid's work table is folded down to allow for walking space.
We built a counter top inside the closet and the Chief put some electric in there for all my electronics. I put up a florescent light because it was a very dark area. I also put the peg board above the counter so I could have everything at arms reach. All my scrapbooking and craft supplies are readily available without me searching throughout the house for them.
When I designed this room I made sure I was able to store everything away easily and conveniently so when the bed was down nothing was in the way.
I needed a table to work on and I had a drop leaf table that fits perfectly under the counter for easy storage. Now I don't have to worry about putting away a scrapbook in progress if we should get sleep over guests. I just simply push the table under the counter and it will be just fine until I am ready to get back to it.
This corner is all my paints, gift wrapping supplies, sewing machine and fabrics.

I love this is an electric fireplace/heater. This room seems to be the coldest room in the house. I was in Lowes and saw these Fire places and thought it was a perfect solution to warm up the room. What I love most about it is you can run the fire without the heater. This gives my space a real cozy and comfortable feel all year long.
The shelves are from Target and they are called Shabby Bookshelves. They are great for storing more of my Scrapbooking supplies.    Because the Chief knows how much I love TV, he got me one to complete my space.
Here are some before and after photos.

Quick and easy fried chicken with mushroom brown gravy

Yesterday I was so busy with gathering up materials for the Cub Scout meeting and planning for the Cisco Kids 7th birthday party in about three weeks. After a long day working on those two things I still had to cook dinner. I wanted to make something easy, quick and good. I thought fried Chicken breast with mushroom brown gravy. I have never made this before and when the Chief says.... This is a keeper, I know he really likes it.  So I thought I would share this simple recipe with you.

Two chicken breast
1 cup of seasoned bread crumbs
1 egg scrambled
2 cups of chicken broth
1 tablespoon of butter
2 cups of sliced mushrooms
1 cup of frozen peas
1 tablespoons of corn starch in 1/4 cup of water
1/8 cup choped fresh parsley
2 cloves chopped fresh garlic
salt and pepper to taste.

I took a Chicken Breast and dipped it into a scrambled egg then covered it with seasoned bread crumbs. I then gently pan fried it in about 1/8 cup of olive oil. Once the chicken was cooked I removed it from the pan and added one tablespoon of butter. I added two cups of sliced mushrooms, garlic and parsle to the butter and sautéed them. Once the mushrooms were cooked I added one cup of frozen peas and two cups of chicken broth. Simmer until the peas are heated through. Combine one tablespoons of cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water and pour into simmering broth while constantly stirring. Salt and pepper to taste. I put the chicken breast on a plate and poured the mushroom brown gravy over the top. Add parmesan cheese and serve.

The Pinewood Derby car race is on or maybee not!!!!

We are very excited about January 23rd. This is the day we enter our car into the Pinewood Derby for the first time. We got our kit last night and it is not what I thought it would be. We literally got a block of wood with four wheels and four nails. the guys will have to literally carve the car out of this block of wood. This should be interesting!!!!!!!

These are some examples of what was carved out of that block of wood.  The chief is a modeler.  I think he can pull this off.  The Cisco Kid has not chosen what he wants his car to look like yet.  If I would guess I would say it will be a fire truck or a police car.  We will see.....I will post the progress of our Pinewood Derby car creation.
