Going to the Beach on a sunny Sunday
We were hanging around the house Sunday, not doing much of anything. The Chief and I were asking each other most of the day, is their anything you want to do today? We would both look at each other and shrug our shoulders thinking, not really! Then I made a suggestion. Lets go to the beach. We can go to Firehouse subs for dinner and leave from there. We got to the beach at 5:30 p.m. Since we are not sun worshippers, it was perfect. No crowds and no hot boiling sun, just lots of relaxing fun. What a great way to end the weekend.

Italian - Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil salad
I would like to share one of my favorite salads. Summer is tomato and basil season, and there is nothing better than a beautiful garden red tomato with fresh basil and fresh mozzarella cheese, a loaf of Italian bread drizzled with olive oil. I also love to serve this with a mixture of fresh flat leaf parsley, basil, garlic & olive oil spared. This is wonderful and very simple to make. See Family Heritage Cook Book for the recipe.

What a day!
My day started off really good. Then it was time to go to my Piano lesson. I grab my phone, put on my shoes, open the door to the garage, OH NO, the door won’t open. 1st thought, how can I get into the garage to get my truck out? Garage door….No! It's on remote control and the control is in the truck. 2nd thought, Is the back door open to the garage? No such luck. 3rd thought, I have to get in there so I could pick up my baby from school in 1 hour. Next, I called the Chief. He gave me a simple solution. Un-screw the door handle. Not so simple when all the tools are in the GARAGE!!!! What good is a junk drawer when there’s no screwdriver in it?
Finally I found this. The Chief's old Coast Guard tool.....
